AWS Cloud Engineer
- [Engineer / Senior Engineer]
- Stockholm, [Stockholm address]
- [hybrid / on-site policy]
Elva helps companies build and modernise on AWS, with a focus on serverless and cloud-native architecture. You will work directly with client teams on real systems, not on a bench or in a ticket queue. Engineers here are versatile: one quarter you may design an event-driven backend, the next you may untangle a migration or fix a cost problem.
Apply01 · the plan
Your first six months
Month 1
Join a client project alongside a senior engineer. Learn how we scope, build and hand over work.
Months 2 to 3
Own a defined piece of delivery, for example [a Lambda and API Gateway backend, a CI/CD pipeline in CDK or Terraform, a data ingestion flow].
Months 4 to 6
Talk to the client yourself: run a design discussion, present a trade-off, estimate a piece of work.

Problems you might work on
- [Moving a monolith to an event-driven serverless architecture]
- [Cutting a client's AWS bill by finding where the money actually goes]
- [Setting up a multi-account landing zone with sensible guardrails]
- [Replacing a fragile batch job with Step Functions and EventBridge]
AWS services you'll likely touch
- Lambda
- API Gateway
- DynamoDB
- Step Functions
- EventBridge
- S3
- IAM
- CloudFormation or CDK
- [others]
You do not need all of them. You need depth in some and curiosity about the rest.

Who you'll work with
[Team size], [names or roles of the engineers and lead], and client engineers and product owners. Client contact is [a daily part of the job / weekly / depends on project].

What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience building on AWS, in production or in serious personal projects.
- Comfort learning new services and domains quickly. Breadth matters here as much as depth.
- Clear written and spoken communication, in [Swedish and English / English].
- Good judgment about trade-offs: cost, complexity, time, risk.
Certifications help but are not required. If you have built something real, we want to hear about it.

Questions people ask
Does a human actually read my application?
[draft: Yes. Every application is read by an engineer, not filtered by software first.]
Do I need to speak Swedish?
[draft: No. We work in English when anyone in the room prefers it. Some clients work in Swedish, so it helps, but we staff around it.]
Do I need AWS certifications?
[draft: No. They help, and we pay for them once you're here. We care more about what you've built.]
Can I use AI to help write my application?
[draft: Sure, we use it at work too. Just make sure it still sounds like you, and that you can talk about everything it says.]
Will I get feedback if it's a no?
[draft: After a conversation with us, yes: a short note on what went well and what didn't. Before that, a clear yes or no, not silence.]
Can I apply again later?
[draft: Yes, after six months. Tell us what changed.]
